The Lake Ozark Police Department is now accepting applications for a full time Police Officer.


Police Officer Minimum Qualifications

Must be Missouri P.O.S.T. Certified, twenty one years of age, a high school graduate (or equivalent) with some college preferred and free of felony/serious misdemeanor convictions.  Must pass any department-hiring test to include a thorough background investigation.  Must understand federal, state, and local laws.  Must have the ability to conduct follow up investigations on misdemeanor and felony cases and have the ability to use a computer.  Must have good verbal and written communications skills.


Police Officer Essential Functions

Sight, hearing, speech, rapid lateral movement over various terrain.  Use of both arms and hands, have superior strength to subdue suspects and push/pull weights in excess of one hundred pounds.  Have full range of motion in extremities.  Have the ability to analyze situations, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure.


Police Officer Salary and Benefits

The starting annual salary for the position of Police Officer is $29.283 ($14.08/hr).  Benefits include health insurance (the City pays $460.00 per month toward basic health insurance for the employee.  An upgradeable plan is available at an extra cost to the employee.  Vision and dental coverage is available at an extra cost to the employee.  There is a retirement plan through LAGERS, which the city pays 8% toward (no employee contribution available).  Vacation and sick leave both accrue on a monthly basis.  Two weeks of paid vacation time is available to the employee after the first year of employment.
